It looks like we’ll know a little more tomorrow on this situation, as Woods is expected to talk to police as this accident continues to be investigated. As you’ve probably seen in all the stories thus far today, they do not believe that alcohol played any part whatsoever in this crash, so there’s no reason to suspect that unless it is proven at a later date.

I’m sure rumors will be swirling like crazy, so who knows exactly what caused the accident or anything like that. It’s all just speculation at this point, but as I said, we’ll probably know more tomorrow after he talks with police and whenever they decide to release some type of statement.

Again, we wish nothing but the best for Tiger, and hope that he can make a quick recovery from this.

I’m sure you’ll be hearing a lot about this over the next few hours, but just remember that since there will be so many people talking about this, the truth may be stretched a little bit at times.

I’d say all you’ll have to do is check any national news station for the latest as we all continue to receive the information regarding this serious accident.

We wish the best to Tiger and the rest of his family, and hope for a speedy recovery.

So I doubt that any of us golf fans will be out on the links today or hitting the range to work on that swing. Instead, we’ll be filling our faces with a lot of spectacular food, and well, we’ll probably still be thinking about that missed birdie putt from 6 feet that we missed a week ago. But that’s besides the point.

Westwood has been so close so many times this year, as we’ve seen him play some great golf at times. But there has just been a few holes here and there all season that have cost him victories, and made him settle for top ten finishes.

While Westwood has said some things in the past that may have been questioned by golf fans, there is no doubt that this guy is one of the best golfers out there today. He’s the kind of guy that can step up and win a big major, as he almost did it at last year’s U.S. Open. With the enormous battle taking place between Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate, people sometimes forget that Westwood was so close to winning that one.

But again, congrats to Westwood on the huge win in Dubai, and this should definitely give him some momentum heading into next season.

Seriously, is he going to continue to do this? First he rips into Anthony Kim, and then gets it handed to him by Kim out on the course. Now he’s talking about American golfers having it easy?

Does he not realize who these guys play against? They’re competing against the greatest golfer of all-time, Tiger Woods. Yet they have it easy? I don’t think so. I know, I know. He’s talking about more of a money thing than competition. And while I know the players want a shot at some big money, they also want a shot at glory. And they’ll get that glory if they knock off Tiger.

But I guess Allenby will continue to give his thoughts, and there’s nothing wrong with that. While I may not agree with them, he does have the right to his opinion. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what Allenby says next.

The LPGA did have 27 events this past year, but now there is some problems. Sure, they only lost three events, but as it states in the story, this will be the lowest number of events on schedule in close to 40 years. And with only 13 events in the United States, that’s certainly a huge cause for concern.

I’ll admit. I use to have trouble watching the LPGA. Now, there’s some talent that I enjoy watching. Michelle Wie can be the face of the tour, and with her winning her first event this past week, her career is headed nowhere but up. She can be how the LPGA gains fans.

But, that will rely on the LPGA marketing her and the rest of their players correctly. That has to be priority number one of new LPGA commissioner Michael Whan.

We’ll see how that goes, because the LPGA certainly has to do something to save the tour from declining even further.

Here’s a great story by Alan Shipnuck over at Golf.com on the Wie victory, and what it means going forward for her career.

After watching the Solheim Cup this year, and watching Wie transform into a complete different person and player out there, it was just a matter of time before this happened. I thought it would happen a little bit sooner, but I’m sure it was worth the wait for Wie.

The kind of Wie that we saw at the Solheim Cup is the kind of Wie that I want to see all the time. Since that big win by the U.S., in which was the key factor in, she’s looked much more confident and much more relaxed out on the golf course.

So glad to see her pick up the win this week and I’m sure it’ll be just a matter of time before she’s raising another trophy.

As Tiger gets ready to tee off here tonight in the final round, the question is whether or not he can hang on for the win. And again, I’ve said it since this tournament started, I fully expect him to win this thing.

I had a feeling it would be one of those tournaments where if Tiger got off to a fast start, that he could pretty much knock everyone else out of contention. However, he’s still got a lot of guys threatening his place at the top. James Nitties and Greg Chalmers were both tied with Woods at the end of the third round, and will surely try to knock off the main man in the final round action. You can follow the live scores tonight here.

It should be an exciting final round in Australia!

Here’s the AP story on the second round of action.

As I write this, the third round is underway, and Jason Dufner has shot 3-under through six holes to get to 10-under with Tiger, who has shot even par for the round. While Dufner is making a nice run to start the third, you would have to think that Tiger eventually gets something going soon and starts cashing in on some birdie opportunities.

And Greg Chalmers has also moved to 10-under. So we’ll see how the third round goes, and see if Tiger can keep my prediction going at the end of the round.

Again, as a golf fan, this is no surprise to me. Tiger had some motivation coming into this week, and it has certainly shown thus far after one round down under. Though he looked terrible on Sunday last week, he played very well for the first three rounds, so he’s been playing good golf overall.

I think this may be one of those tournaments where Tiger leads from start to finish, and though it’ll probably be close throughout, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him blow away the competition on the final day.
